Delaware County Needs

Task force to aid Walton Seniors
A task force has been formed through the Walton Fire Department to help disabled or impaired senior citizens. Anyone who wishes to volunteer can come to the Task Force Center at New Hope Church on Stockton Avenue starting Wednesday, July 5.

Tasks may include carrying out personal items so an area can be drained and cleaned, or removing flood-damaged furniture, among other tasks.

Seniors can call 865-7600 for assistance starting Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Volunteers Needed @ Hancock Fire Department
Hancock is in need of workers for cooking and serving food to fire fighters, national guard, and just the people here working contractors, state workers yada yada yada

Volunteers Needed At Walton High School
The shelter is asking for volunteers willing to do any task they can. If you would like to volunteer, Massey suggests going to the Walton High School and tell them what you can do. There are people there will direct you, she said.

Food Needed @ Hancock Fire Department
if u know of a way to get in certain types of food ie. bread, milk, eggs, potatos, paper products - please send whatever

Clothing Needed @ Fire Department
we are working on a local clothing drive also since we have families with nothing also

Sheltering operations continue in Hancock, Walton, Sidney and Delhi. As of the evening of July 1, the Red Cross sheltered 4 residents in Hancock, 11 in Walton and 75 in Sidney. Approximately 200 public safety personnel are being housed and fed at SUNY Delhi. An additional 20 National Guard troops will be housed in the Hancock Center.
